The ambition of the SIZ Football Academy is to establish the first complete football training facility in Uganda. Our primary goal is to contribute to the development of Uganda through sports by providing a safe and approved environment for athletes to enhance their skills and abilities. By creating this facility, we aim to stimulate economic growth, generate job opportunities, attract international attention, and give back to the community.

The SIZ Football Academy comprises various entities, including the SIZ Football Club, SIZ Development Programs, and SIZ Little League Academy. Our overarching objective is to offer each athlete a platform to fully develop their talents and showcase their abilities, opening doors for better educational opportunities and talent scouting.

Our vision for the training center is to establish a state-of-the-art facility that facilitates the progressive improvement of our players. The center will feature two standard outdoor fields and one standard indoor football field. To promote sustainable energy usage, we will incorporate solar-powered lighting throughout the facility, ensuring efficient power supply for pitch lighting, building lighting, kitchen appliances, and water heating systems.

The building plans for the training center include an operations office to handle the management of the facility, a medical center to cater to athletes seeking treatment for injuries, fully equipped dressing rooms, washrooms, and lockers for secure storage of players' belongings. Recognizing the importance of skills development, we will incorporate an indoor skills room where players can focus on honing specific aspects of their game.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle is paramount to us, so we plan to sell food and beverages at the facility at cost-effective prices. All food will be sourced locally and freshly prepared daily, while the kitchen and dining area will cater to this purpose. Specialist working areas such as performance analysis, briefing areas, talent identification/recruitment, player welfare, and media/press facilities will be included to ensure comprehensive support for our players.

Operations and site management will encompass a kit store and repair facility, laundry and kit management, storage for nutrition and medical items, as well as match equipment and technology. Education is a fundamental part of our vision, and therefore, the facility will house a secondary school (grades S1-S6 in Uganda). All athletes at the facility will be required to attend school, emphasizing the importance of balancing education and sports.

 

Through these ambitions and vision, the SIZ Football Academy aims to provide a holistic and empowering environment where young athletes can thrive, both in their football careers and personal development.
